WHAT ARE WE HERE FOR?

This is the question everyone asks themselves. And it is the question we are constantly asking each other in the creative community we call the Victoria College of Art. In this constantly shifting and changing world it seems the people who might have the best handle on answering this big question are those who recognize that CREATIVITY is the hallmark of what makes us
truly human.

Being a creative artist is the most green activity a person can engage in. Rather than consuming and polluting, the creative person gives back by making something out of virtually nothing, at the same time adding a sense of awe, beauty and fresh understanding to human life.

CAN I MAKE IT?
If you want to develop your ability to be such a person, to be ready to sail with the winds of change, to be inspired by new ideas, to be ever curious and willing to learn, then Victoria College of Art might be the place for you.

We are celebrating our 35th anniversary this year; so we think we know how to help you along. YOU are at the centre of our dedicated teachers worlds. It is YOUR development they seek to inspire through personal hands-on learning in small classes with a non-competitive supportive atmosphere.

WHEN DO I BECOME AN ARTIST?
Right away. The moment you cross the threshold you are one of us. At the Victoria College of Art, we believe in the Atelier tradition of spending more time making your mark in the studio with our practicing professional artists as your mentors, rather than writing or talking about it. At the end of year show last April, 650 people turned out to see our first and second-year students work and brought 85 pieces in all media.
